FergusFallsDailyJournal3/13/1941Pg11 "Mrs. Charlotte Splittgerber, 85, widow of the late Charles Splittberber of Friberg township, died at her home Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 from complications incident to her age.

Mrs. Splittgerber was born in Germany and came to the United States about sixty years ago, coming from Germany with her husband and two children. On their arrival in this country they came directly to Otter Tail county and for a year or two resided in Carlisle township before moving to Friberg.

The Splittgerbers were among the respected pioneer families and the death of this pioneer mother will be mourned by a host of friends as well as by those within the family circle.

Left to mourn the death of a loving mother are eight children - August of Alexandria; Henry at home; Mrs. Albert Schierman, Mrs. Mary Weiss, and Mrs. Alvina Hall, all of Erhard; Mrs. Robert Beske, Elizabeth; Mrs. Charles Thompson, Fairmount, N.D. and Mrs. Chris Nelson of Fergus Falls. She also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at one o'clock from the home and at 2 o'clock from the Tonseth church. The regular church services will be postponed."

reads: Bachelor August Splittgerber, resident of Debenke and maiden Eva Dumrose of the same place were married in the
church in Debenke. August's age is given as 25 years and 3 months. If that's right, it means he was born about September
1818."
